The Benefits

The CIT is designed to assess and monitor cardiometabolic risk in adults, a common concern for many.

With this CIT Test you will get a full interpration to understand your results and potential risk.

Description

Did you know that cardiometabolic conditions are a major health concern in the UK?

Approximately 4 million people in the UK are living with diabetes, and about 7 million people have cardiovascular disease. Additionally, metabolic syndrome and obesity affect a significant portion of the population, with nearly 64% of adults being classified as overweight or obese.

These conditions contribute to a large number of premature deaths and diminished quality of life. Cardiovascular disease alone accounts for around 25% of all deaths in the UK, making it a leading cause of mortality.

Cardiovascular Inflammation Test (CIT)

The CIT is designed to assess and monitor cardiometabolic risk in adults, a common concern for many. Conditions such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and obesity are widespread but largely preventable and manageable. By using a strategic combination of blood tests, the CIT can identify and track the risk for serious health issues, helping to prevent premature death and improve quality of life.

Markers tested :

Lipids:

  • Total Cholesterol (TC): Measures the cholesterol content in all cholesterol-containing lipoproteins.
  • Triglycerides (TG): Elevated levels increase cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk by altering lipoprotein metabolism.
  • Direct Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C): Indicates the amount of cholesterol in atherogenic low-density lipoproteins.
  • High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C): Measures the cholesterol in high-density lipoproteins. Higher levels are linked to reduced CVD risk, but not all HDL is beneficial.
  • Lipid Ratio: The ratio of TC to HDL-C is a stronger risk factor for CVD than either LDL-C or HDL-C alone. A low HDL-C to TG ratio is associated with insulin resistance.
  • Lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)): Elevated levels, found in 20% of the population, are an independent risk factor for CVD.
  • Apolipoprotein B (apoB): A key protein in atherogenic particles and a stronger predictor of CVD than LDL-C.

Metabolics:

  • Homocysteine: High levels are linked to vitamin B deficiency and an increased risk for CVD and dementia.
  • Glucose: Fasting glucose is a strong predictor of diabetes and CVD risk.
  • Haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c): Assesses the average blood glucose over the past two to three months.

Inflammation:

  • High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP): An acute phase inflammatory protein associated with atherosclerosis, after excluding other causes.

Don’t wait for a wake-up call. Embrace the power of prevention with the Cardiovascular Inflammation Test. Invest in your health, understand your risks, and take control of your future.
